Das Unheimliche at the XI Foto Art Festival – 20th Anniversary Edition
I presented my series Das Unheimliche as a solo exhibition within the XI Foto Art Festival in Bielsko-Biała, Poland. My work was shown at the Historical Museum of Bielsko-Biała, one of the main venues of the festival’s official programme.
Founded in 2005, Foto Art Festival is one of the most established events in Europe dedicated to author photography. Over the past 20 years it has built a strong reputation for its curated selection of international photographers, its focus on conceptual and narrative approaches, and its commitment to presenting photography as an artistic and cultural discourse rather than a commercial product. Each edition features a limited number of exhibitions across several key locations in the city, maintaining a high level of quality and coherence.
Being part of this context meant presenting my work alongside internationally recognised authors and within a platform that values artistic research and authorship. It offered the opportunity to connect with curators, artists, and an informed audience, reinforcing the positioning of the project within a broader contemporary photography landscape.
In addition to the exhibition, I was invited to speak during the Authors’ Marathon, where I discussed the conceptual development of the series and my approach to portraiture. The presentation allowed for direct exchange with a professional audience and further contextualised the work within my wider practice.
